Painting Tips from a Professional
Prep Is 80% of the Job
Fill every nail hole. Sand every rough spot. Tape every edge. Prime bare surfaces. The prep is what makes the final result look right.
Use Quality Brushes and Rollers
A $15 brush cuts cleaner lines than a $3 brush. Purdy and Wooster make excellent brushes worth the investment.
The W Technique
Roll paint in a W pattern first, then fill in without lifting the roller. This distributes paint evenly and prevents roller lines.
Two Coats, Always
One coat never looks as good as you think it will once it dries. Two coats gives you even coverage and true color.
